IT'S A FAMILY BUSINESS

Portofino Ceramica is a second-generation family business. The brand was founded around 30 years ago by Phil's father. It has its origins in the Italian coastal town of Portofino, where the trade in ceramics began. This is where the Italian name "Portofino Ceramica" comes from, which we have deliberately retained to this day.

With the development of the European ceramics industry, the production location has also changed. Portugal has developed into one of the most innovative locations for ceramics. Today, our products are created there in close cooperation with experienced manufacturers who combine traditional craftsmanship with modern production standards.

Today, Portofino Ceramica is run by Phil and Zoi, the second generation of the family. Together we want to combine the tradition of the family business with new ideas and modern concepts. Phil's parents are still actively involved in the company, bringing together many years of experience and new perspectives.

Today, our team consists of twelve employees. We ship our ceramics throughout Europe from our logistics location in Bielefeld. The majority of our range is sold via our online store, and we also supply restaurants and selected retail partners.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

At Portofino Ceramica, we combine traditional craftsmanship with timeless, modern design. We attach great importance to high-quality materials, clear shapes and calm lines. Our tableware should be versatile, give pleasure for a long time and stand the test of time. Our aim is to develop products that do not follow short-term trends, but can be used for many years.

Our ceramics are made in Portugal in close cooperation with our long-standing production partners. We attach particular importance to fair, responsible and environmentally conscious production as well as partnership-based cooperation. We ensure quality and working conditions through regular visits to the production facilities.

The raw material for our ceramics comes from the region of our manufacturers in Portugal. This keeps transportation routes short and the material quality consistently high. Ceramics are robust, durable and sustainable by nature.

Before a glaze is included in our range, it is carefully checked and tested. This includes laboratory analyses and comprehensive quality controls. This is how we ensure that our products meet standards in terms of food safety, durability and suitability for everyday use.
